D-link wireless adaptor is now working. I had to move the computer close enough to the router to connect with a cat 5 cable. Once online, I updated the drivers using the driver manager, shut down the system, switched to the D-Link and rebooted. Everything is working nicely now. I should mention, I am new to Linux and this is my first install.
